2022 Light of Life Gala

22
April

When our day started on April 22nd with one of our nurses leading a patient to trust Christ as Savior, we knew it was going to be a great day! After such a wonderful start to the day, we enjoyed the Gala knowing it was the icing on the cake! And what a delicious cake it was…

With a full ballroom, guests were educated and informed, challenged to engage, and encouraged to be part of the solution to the many challenges in women’s reproductive health: ongoing abortion, the STD epidemic, and the high rate of maternal death.

LTC Allen West led the charge as he served as our distinguished Master of Ceremonies. Quoting scripture and the constitution, Colonel West kept the program moving along the theme that now is the time for Christians to engage fully in the life issue.

Keynote speaker Allie Stuckey began with Genesis 1:1 in reminding us that God created it all, and our agreement with that fact should impact not only our beliefs, but our actions in how we address the challenges of our day.

Her fresh, direct outlay of information coupled well with her reminder that the impending, hoped-for SCOTUS decision of overturning the 1973 Roe vs. Wade High Court ruling is a signal our real work is just beginning in addressing the unplanned pregnancy issue.

IFLI Advisory Board member June Hunt closed the evening with prayer and personal comments of how the passage Jeremiah 1:5 impacted her thought process and beliefs regarding abortion many years ago. She challenged Gala attendees to use this verse in discussions with those who are pro-abortion as a starting point in thoughtful discussion on the topic.
